GIVE US A HEART THAT SEEKS YOU LORD

Do you make space to hear from God? 

I have to be intentional about it. I often sit with thoughts, things to read and/or listen to, and I neglect to make space for His voice.

This morning, I got up early, and went outside. It’s so peaceful here, I can hear the wind, the birds chirping. I opened my Bible on Ecclesiastes and read “He has made everything beautiful in its time”. I needed to hear those words. I need to trust you Lord” I thought. Then I was lead to Jeremiah 29:11. I didn’t plan to land there but I did which was cool because Alexa had just told me that is her favorite verse; so I continued reading and verses 12 and 13 got me. 

“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart”

I forget at times. Or maybe it is that I don’t fully believe it. God hears us; we just need to seek Him. And when we are in His presence, there is truly peace…. A peace that surpasses understanding. 

I’m not great at quieting down, but when I let God lead, He leads me to spaces in which I let go of control. We truly can make room for His presence and voice, we just need to be intentional. We can seek Him anytime of day or night! Isn’t that such a gift?

My prayer for you and I today is “Dear Lord, please give us a heart that seeks you. Please help us let go of our will; and help us be transformed by you. Our lives are not ours, but yours. Help us prioritize you above all things! Form us in your likeness, we want our lives to glorify you. Help us to fully surrender to you Lord. You above all else. Amen”.
