BREATHE LIFE INTO YOUR BONES

“Settling for a valley of dry bones religion when the veil has been torn”

I heard that sentence a few weeks ago and I wrote it down; probably because it’s relatable. I’ve settled for spiritual dryness so many times in my life. Life with Jesus was basically a checklist I marked off. It was lifeless and even boring. I didn’t know what I was missing and/or I was too busy to even notice.

Establishing a rhythm in which I talk to God throughout the day, about the big and little things, has made a big difference. Creating margins in my life has allowed me to make room to hear God’s voice. Starting to pray for God to breathe life in my bones is becoming another rhythm I love. Reading His word and living with the knowledge and hope of His promises is one of my biggest desires. Life with Jesus is true LIFE.

Today, I sat with the girls and we prayed over this. We all had interesting moods this morning and I noticed our priority time (time with Jesus) felt lifeless. So we talked through this…. To do life with Jesus is truly an adventure! It’s not boring but full of life! We just need to be intentional, remain grounded, and connected to the vine (John 15). We needed to press the “reset” button and do some reflection on the steps we are taking and HOW we are taking them! “Are we allowing Jesus in every part of our lives?”. “Are we letting Him transform us?” “Are we believing His promises?” It was a good reflection, and a sweet prayer.

Are you experiencing spiritual dryness? If so, read God’s word and ask Him to breathe life into your bones. We serve a God who transforms, a God who breathes life! He already knows where we are at in our walk with Him, we just need to ask Him. He answers.
